Jekyll was a brilliant painter, photographer, craftsman, writer and designer and was so inspired by the works of Arts & Crafts. One day he met the famous architect, Edwin Lutyens. After they met, they formed a partnership and started designing house and landscape together, what they did were successful projects and gave imagination to people back then. Although some modern gardens may now adapt a true Jekyll design, every gardener can study and apply his or her own color theory to suit the forces of space and time in their garden. The parallel between past and present offers a glimpse into the internal friability of landscape design. In the development of the restoration and redesign of Gertrude Jekyll's gardens, a new interest in her designs and the maintenance of the feeling of nature are demonstrated.
