William Shakespeare, perhaps the greatest playwright of all time, wrote a series of works consisting of sonnets, comedies and tragedies. In his brilliant career, Shakespeare created literary works of art. What makes Shakespeare different from any other writer of his time, or those that followed, is his ability to organize a realistic plot, handle themes, and develop characters within his works. Furthermore, Shakespeare's ability to provoke feelings and reactions to his writing is also what sets him apart from other ordinary writers. Of his plays, Hamlet is undoubtedly the most famous play in the English language. Probably written in 1601 or 1602, the tragedy constitutes a milestone in Shakespeare's dramatic development; the playwright achieved artistic maturity in this work through his brilliant depiction of the hero's struggle with two opposing forces: moral integrity and the need to avenge his father's murder. Even though four hundred years have passed, this tragedy shines with a beauty all its own. In Hamlet, Shakespeare wrote an incomparable and profound tragedy of the human spirit from a very common myth and gave the hero Hamlet profound thoughts and emotions that many people possess. No wonder the famous writer Belinsky exclaimed: ¡°Hamlet¡ is truly great and deep: this is life, this is human being, this is you, this is me, this is each of us. ¡±Hamlet was the young prince of Denmark. His uncle Claudius killed the old king Hamlet, married the queen, and then became the new king. Early in the play the details of the murder are made known to Hamlet, who vows to carry out his revenge, and ultimately does so, ending the action. But unlike ordinary people who take revenge the moment they learn of the murder, he is slow to act. Hamlet does not kill Claudius in the church, although up to that point he has a better chance of doing so; He is known in the kingdom as a brilliant fencer, and shows his skill in the fight with Laertes, whereupon he manages to cut down the king and take the glass of poison from Horatio's hand, all this while dying of deadly poison. What then is the reason for his delay in action? This question has been the battleground of many literary critics. Without a doubt, Hamlet had his reasons. And this should be connected to his character. The character of Hamlet shows a lot of despondency, seriousness and sensitivity towards his new… medium of paper… however, in Hamlet, the use of soliloquy gives the audience a gateway into the minds of the characters, and in this case the various reasons why Hamlet delays in demanding revenge. This is why Shakespeare's works have attracted people for hundreds of years. As for Hamlet, in today's society and its values, Hamlet continues to be an instrument in contributing to the ideals of value and morality. This story of a man and his downfalls should be considered a crucial resource for the betterment of society and a lesson learned about compassion for others. The best lessons are learned through mistakes.Bibliography1. Hamlet, edited by David Bevington, Bantam Bcoks, New York, Toronto, London, Sydney, Auckland. 1989.2. Bevington, David ed.
