IntroductionThe term technology well indicates the trends of the current century starting from the advent of information systems and can be identified elsewhere. When it comes to communication, in the last three decades the technology has emerged as Information Communication Technology (ICT) and ICT has become highly involved in daily life as it brings notable advantages such as faster and more convenient communication, easier acquisition of information and better quality. of life. Interestingly, ICT has also brought benefits to healthcare systems. For example, technology has enabled healthcare professionals to manage healthcare system data and improve workflow effectiveness, and these benefits have resulted in improved patient safety (Bates and Gawande, 2003, McGonigle and Mastrian, 2009, Parente and McCullough, 2009). Therefore, the importance of ICT skills within the healthcare professions cannot be underestimated. It is also natural that nursing professionals are equipped with high ICT skills. It has therefore attracted many researchers for its efficient provision of nursing care and communication between other healthcare professionals (Cronenwett et al., 2007). However, previous nursing studies have presented significant barriers to using ICT, such as a user's lack of experience, confidence, competence and training in using ICT ( Chang et al., 2011 , Gilmour et al., 2008 , Saranto et al., 1997 ). As we continue to understand and address some of these barriers and difficulties, some tools have been developed that can measure factors that influence nursing professionals' ICT-related attitudes and skills (Chang et al., 2011). However, they are still experiencing a lack… middle of paper… staff attitudes with only a few factors (Ward et al., 2008). In summary, measuring nursing professionals' attitudes towards ICT is vital, but it is difficult to identify the factors that support attitudes, as many studies reported here indicate different and complex factor structures related to ICT attitudes. The most serious problem is that the instruments reported so far that measure attitudes are controversial in relation to validity, although such instruments have achieved satisfactory results in terms of internal consistency reliability. This controversial issue should be addressed because reliability is a sufficient rather than necessary condition for addressing validity for instrument development (DeVon et al., 2007). Although some previous studies have performed EFA, very few studies have attempted CFA to test the factor structures and validity of the EFA.
