Friday, December 6, 2013 - Math FractionsOn the first day of my review I decided to start with fractions. A fraction is a numerical quantity that is not a whole number (e.g. 12, 0.5). The information I gathered to get the fractions correct was, going back to notes taken in class, using the BBC website, also asking questions from the GCSE maths book. Being at university on Friday I didn't have much time during the day to study mathematics, but once I got home and had dinner I decided to start studying. Around 9pm I gathered all the information about my revision and decided that in the first 10 minutes I would watch some YouTube videos from math teachers to understand better. After those 10 minutes I decided to reflect on the notes I took in class for the next 20 minutes, then I started creating some of my own questions to test my skills. In the last 10 minutes of my review I decided to start a test on the lowest level of BBC bite size fractions, then gradually move up to higher levels. The test result was better than I thought; I was impressed with the result and had a better understanding. I also decided to take notes for each topic during my 10 days of revision, this in addition to know my weak points and if I couldn't understand I would ask my lecturer for help. Fractions are not my weakness in math as I have a rough understanding. Saturday, December 7, 2013 - Mathematical Factors On Saturday I usually work from morning to night, but today I decided to take a day off to spend time with my family and prepare for my math exam. As my schedule shows, it was an incredibly busy day spending time with my son and being able to visit my family. However in the evening I decided to... halfway through the paper... with the online revision and the 10 minute online test the results improved, which means I improved. This was very helpful as it reminded me how simple it was to simply summarize the topic. It was very useful to me especially because these are my biggest difficulties in mathematics. Monday 16 December 2013 Mathematics Reports o -On the day of the exam I summarize my memories about reports, just before the exams I test myself with my classmates for 20 minutes and then I decide to take some notes so I can give a final look at what I was summarizing. The last 20 minutes before the exam I was testing myself. I felt it was a very superior idea since I wasn't very sure about the ratios. Having to have a final memory brought back all my memories of what I had studied about relationships. I feel positive if the ratios came up in my exam, I'm confident I would get it correct.
