Anne Frank: her will to surviveGrowing up Anne lived in a very rich and happy home. His father was a very successful man. He owned his own business and provided more than enough for the Frank family. When Anne was born in Frankfurt am Maine, Germany on June 12, 1929, her mother and father moved to Amsterdam, Germany. (Web. March 5, 2014.) Anne was one of many children, with an older sister and two brothers. (Web. March 5, 2014.) The Frank family has always helped and served Germany whenever they could. (Web. March 5, 2014.) During World War I, Anne's two brothers served in the German army while her mother and older sister volunteered at various hospitals to help the troops. (Web. March 5, 2014.) When World War II began, Anne's parents were very wise about what precautions to take. They hid in the annex of his father's company for 5 months until they were found. (Web. March 3, 2014.) Living in the annex was not described as an easy thing. Rooms were cramped, food was hard to find, and work was scarce. During these vicissitudes of Jewish life, Anne Frank never left and remained in hiding with her family while her father found work in exchange for food. In the Diary of Anne Frank, Anne talks about how hungry she is in the annex. Coming home from work, his father would bring home small portions of food which was usually soup with some pasta. When Anne's father was at work, she was so hungry that one day she ate a pasta of his soup. Immediately after work he noticed this and got angry with Anne. Before going into hiding, Anne and her father had a very close relationship with what Anne would describe as her friend. This passage shows the change not only in how they live, but also in how this degrading way of living is affecting them. The situation is tense, everyone is hungry and Anne can... middle of paper... someone because she said, I know it's terrible trying to have faith when people are acting so horrible... But you know what I think sometimes? I think the world is going through a phase, like I was with my mother. It will pass. Maybe not in hundreds of years, but one day. - I still believe, despite everything, that people are really good at heart. (John, G.. Np.)Although Anne Frank did not live happily ever after, she managed to bring peace to war through her diary. Anne Frank, who grew up with a life that everyone wanted and that was taken away and hidden from her, showed the world her survival against all odds. After his father survived, he immediately published his diary. Anne Frank taught us that, deep down, people are good at heart, that you have to make the best of bad situations and appreciate what you have. Because life is about living every day you have.
