Many people think that when an elected president takes office everyone has high hopes and dreams for a better future. The American people depend on a leader to lead them out of recession. However, when Barrack Obama took office with a strategic idea to rejuvenate the economy. President Barrack Obama said that the adoption of broadband is one of many factors strengthening the economy or, conversely, competing with other countries. To understand what really matters, should our nation's foreign debt be the primary focus? My opposition argues what the overriding goal for our nation should be. According to Sam Diaz, author of “Obama: “It's Unacceptable That the United States Ranks 15th in the World in Broadband Adoption” published on ZDNet, “Washington Sets National Broadband Strategy for 2009. Additionally , just a few days ago the government declared that the United States has been in recession since December 2007.” However, broadband adoption would be a growing factor in our nation's access to higher levels of education and increased jobs for the American people. On the other hand, having a nation that can survive on its own without having to borrow money for financing seems consistent. It appears that President Obama considers not falling behind other countries or that the phrase “keeping up with Jones” a priority. According to Steve Hurst, “Obama wants to use the proposals, along with spending cuts, to shift money toward spending on education, infrastructure, science and research that he says are needed to increase the competitiveness of states United." In summary, can the United States realistically afford to compete with other countries? Honestly, could the US... out of paper......nt Barrack Obama should fix our financial burden instead of driving the US deeper into debt instead of resorting to drastic measures to race to the top of the charts? for competitive rates. The American economic crisis is in the hands of the president. Works Cited Cashell, Brian. Federal Government Debt: Its Size and Economic Significance.
