Excellence in a learning environment can only be achieved by acquiring and maintaining several aspects of a person's identity, namely: scholarship, service, leadership and character. Throughout my high school career I have consistently demonstrated these characteristics, having moved three times during my high school experience, attending one virtual school and two physical schools, it has been a challenge to be part of teams and groups; yet I have been successful in the programs I have been able to participate in, demonstrating that I have the potential for leadership, as well as having a sense of scholarship, service and character. The key aspect of scholarship in the learning environment is the root of my goals in life and developing a unique and comprehensive curriculum by the end of my school career; I hope to apply myself until university. The number, difficulty, and success of classes an applicant takes in high school are extremely evident in any college's selection process. I have tried to transform the courses I take throughout my high school career into the perfect curriculum for my future education, with varying levels of achievement. During my first two years of high school, the majority of classes I took were Honors level, each providing the rigor I needed to test my determination and responsibility. I would have continued this period of advanced classes, but a move abroad prevented me from taking the AP level courses I wanted during this junior year. Next year, being the last year of my standard high school education, I have pushed myself even further, challenging myself through four advanced placement courses, but I am confident that with my scholarship and integrity I will be able to prevail against all... .... middle of the paper ......n important skills for a medical profession. All together, through my advanced enthusiasm for scholarship, my developed character, my exceptional leadership, and my desire to help others through service, I hope to have the skills needed to strive toward my goals in life and be successful in the rest of my education. I want to be part of the NHS, because I believe it is the place to strengthen my scholarship, improve my character, become a leader and be able to help even more people than I already do. I want to be part of an amazing group like Kinnick's NHS program, a group bigger than me, that will give me new insight into ideas I've never thought of before. I believe I belong in the NHS not only because of the characteristics that make me a person, but because of the characteristics that make me a good team worker, an adequate leader and a successful student.
