Topic > Fighting Injustice - 906

I believe the statements and ideas listed in this quote, "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere" (Martin Luther King Jr.) refer to as if a country they are allowed to abuse, mistreat and terrorize their citizens thinking that countries around the world will fall like a domino and eventually allow themselves to mete out similar treatment to their countries. I understand this quote as a statement made by Martin Luther King Jr. against communism, fascism, civil rights abuses, and unfair treatment in general because of the brutal and horrible lives that some people during his time had to experience and endure. The quote also states that injustice towards any person on this planet is wrong and that, regardless of rhyme or reason, people should stop being oppressed by their individual governments and instead be listened to and collaborated by local institutions. However, it may also be a reference to the civil rights movement of MLK's time, which could mean that he was speaking out against Jim Crowe laws and segregation. It has multiple uses as it can serve as a well-planned strategic attack not only against communism, but also against segregation. Overall, the statement/quote is a strong but short statement against injustice around the world and how it defiantly states that it will affect the rest of the world. One application of the quote may be human trafficking in Somalia. It can be said that one of the worst places in the world are the Somali trafficking circuits. A good example of this fact is a specific article that actually takes the point of view of a child who travels from place to place to be sold from one owner to another and how he suffered mental and physical abuse (Human Trafficking human... half of paper ......to their citizens to become a better government.
