Topic > A Look at Disney At The Disney Company - 631

My family and I have been going to Disney every year since 1995, and the little tidbits we all know come from reading everything we can find about the Disney experience.During Over the past three to four decades, since Walt Disney World opened its theme park in 1971, the park has undergone an incredible transformation. Only three rides were available when the park originally opened, and now, after adding new rides, attractions, and other developments, there are over forty-seven square miles of space. Not only are there actual theme parks, but Disney has also branched out into resorts, hotels, golf courses, campgrounds, water parks, restaurants, entertainment events and themed shows. The Disney Company has grown to over 60,000 employees who actively keep Walt Disney World up and running smoothly, Disney offers a wide variety of training courses for its employees at the Disney Institute, which was developed in 1986, and Benefits that employees acquire complement the company's organizational culture. There is a lot of thought put into creating training courses that benefit the huge number of employees across the Disney Company. The intense focus Disney places on each employee is easily repaid by the great customer satisfaction Disney maintains throughout the year. The training offers organizational behavior concepts such as: decision making, motivation, group behavior, communication, organizational culture, organizational structure and human resource practices. The Disney company is committed to employee happiness and satisfaction. This is the Disney way. One way Disney determines whether employees are happy is by using a 120-question survey of management's overall performance. Communication is the key to a successful business... middle of paper... maintenance workers in white suits hurry to collect rubbish; including the droppings left by the horses that pull the shiny streetcars along Main Street. Every night, the entire Main Street is washed and cleaned. The people and the Magic Kingdom are equally impeccable. As a marching band drums in the distance, characters like Goofy and Snow White stop mingling with the tourists and begin leading them to the sides of Main Street for a parade. This parade is different from all the others you have seen, still including the seasons of the year. Dressed in immaculate uniforms, the fit and attractive band members hold their instruments at the perfect angle. The harmonious spinning tops always grasp their truncheons. They all strut their stuff in unison, only to reappear like clockwork within the hour. During the night parades, the fireworks are spectacular and so beautiful. Walt Disney World is the place that had a profound impact on me.
