The Chinese government recognizes Protestantism and Catholicism as two different religions. In the last century, the Protestant sect of Christianity has really grown among the people. Although the government limits the amount of church involvement, people have begun to go against the government and form their own house churches. The Chinese government is now faced with the challenge of how to maintain control over religious restrictions and how to continue to keep everyone equal.
