Poverty Vs. Education“A higher percentage of young adults (31%) without a high school diploma live in poverty, compared to 24% of young people who have graduated from high school.” (“11 Facts About Education and Poverty in America.”) Extraordinary poverty in the classroom has reached a whole new level. Students cannot find their place in life when they come from a low-income family. Education now must address the challenges of students' daily lives inside and outside the classroom. With today's economy, when a low-income family sends their children to school, the children follow in the same footsteps as their parents. For example; the poor continue to be poor, and the rich continue to be rich in an endless circle, with slight imperfections here and there. (Walker-Dal-house) The board of education chooses wealth over poverty by giving to the rich, ignoring the poor, and limiting aid for the poor. “Rich people believe, “I create my own life.” Poor people believe, “Life happens to me.” (“Rich versus poor.”) Rich people receive greater resources than poor people in many ways. Private schools believe to have better confidence and test scores. Both may be true, but only because students have not been given the full advantage that private school students get. Private schools require time to focus on the essentials and meanings of life . Public schools focus on disciplining and expelling children. Private schools spend money on new material goods, while public schools raise money for their benefits (capenet.org) “Rich people hang out with positive, knowledgeable people success. Poor people associate with negative or unsuccessful people.” (“Rich versus poor.”) With forty percent of students unable to go to school due to inadequate documentation…half of paper... the same, looks the same, works the same, and learns the same. But as a whole of individuals, almost everyone strives to learn and be better for themselves. Not only the rich, but also the poor, simply do not receive the same resources as richer people. Rich people don't always want to learn and not all poor people want to fail. Becoming poor can happen to anyone in the blink of an eye. Whether they lost all their savings gambling, or they simply lost their job and with the economy were unable to find a new one. It is this society's job to ensure that the cycle of poor families with poor children does not continue. Instead, our society must work as a whole to ensure that every student has the opportunity to be who they want to be, regardless of where they come from or where their parents are from. We were all created equal and should remain equal .
