Furthermore, supply chain management is crucial within a company's processes as it incorporates activities where intermediate goods and final products are provided to consumers through a distribution system. It is important to analyze it and take into consideration that this matter has a great impact on company procedures. The main objective of our project is to study the supply chain management of System U North West. This analysis can be carried out through an interview with the Product Manager, Mr. Ledu. Furthermore, it is intended to use the concepts and knowledge learned in operations management and apply them in real life. It is significant to note that we decided to choose this company since it is one of the leading ones in France. Furthermore, its market chain (Marché U, Super U and Hyper U) is well recognized in major French cities. The importance of our research will allow the reader to understand several elements that are crucial part of the supply chain of this business. Besides this, the project will be divided into the following sections: general information, purchasing, logistics process, information system, barriers and conclusions. GENERAL INFORMATION System U is a purchasing center for the market chain (Hyper U, Super U, Marche U). The company is an intermediary between suppliers and stores. Furthermore, the company has an annual turnover of €13.79 billion, equivalent to 8% of market shares. It must supply all products sold in more than 800 stores. Furthermore, System U's main goal is to satisfy its consumers through high-quality prices and product-services. Furthermore, this company is made up of 4 regional purchasing centers: Système U Ouest, Système U Sud, Sytème U Est and Système U Nord Ouest. System U North West is the youngest of the 4 purchasing centres. It must supply 120 stores in 19 departments. Furthermore, it represents €1.1 billion, which means it represents approximately 9% of the company's total revenue. Despite its weak turnover, this purchasing center is the most dynamic with annual growth of 10% since 2000. SYSTEM U PURCHASING NORTH WEST Choice of suppliers Sellers are responsible for choosing suppliers.
