IntroductionAnthropogenic Global WarmingMany consider global warming to be the greatest threat facing the Earth today. This is exactly the opposite because we couldn't survive without global warming! The topic of this talk will be whether or not there is an imminent threat of anthropogenic (or human-caused) global warming. At the end of my speech I would like the audience to develop the truce perspective on the issues of man-made global warming. This will be done through a small representation of the facts related to man-made global warming. To better understand what exactly we are talking about regarding human-caused global warming, we will examine this graph. (See table) The atmosphere is divided into four parts, 78% is in the form of nitrogen, 21% is in the form of oxygen, 9% is argon gas and 0.037% is C02. The basis for the discussion of anthropogenic global warming rests solely on this 0.037% figure. Anthropogenic: alarmists, points of view, causes of man-made global warmingOne of the first alarmists for the theory of anthropogenic global warming was Roger Reveille. He was the first scientist to study and receive funding for the primus of human-caused global warming. During the 1960s Reveille taught at Harvard University where he founded the Center for Population Studies. During this same period Albert Gore junior attended Mr. Reveilles' class where he tabulated data for a carbon dioxide investigation. Al Gore would later claim that this was the foundation of all his work. Gore would later win the Noble Peace Prize in 2007 for his work on a documentary called The Inconvenient Truth. The film will also win the prestigious Oscar for best documentary film (2007).
