Topic > Character Analysis of From Prison Home - 1114

For this assignment we had to watch the movie From Prison Home. This movie is about people in prison who get out and are on probation. These people are not only on probation, but trying to live life with obstacles and stay out of trouble. Now, this particular movie follows four men who have been released and are going through a special program, this program is called the African American Program. This program in particular should be able to help African Americans get the help they need to stay out of trouble. The four men followed by this film are; Richard, Arthur, Calvin, Randy. The entire film is based on these four men and to discuss them we will start with Richard. During this film Richard had just gotten out of prison and that same night he went out and smoked crack. This is where the biggest problems begin, Richard then figures out some things and starts working, and discovers that he has gotten his new girlfriend pregnant. After he got his girlfriend pregnant, they decided they would get married. Then not everything went well and Richard stopped going to work and started going to the center where he shouldn't have been. Richard was then arrested and they discussed how to set him straight and keep him out of trouble. So throughout the film Richard has been struggling with addiction and trying to keep his life straight. The next one we'll talk about is Arthur. Arthur is a man released from prison and has decided to live with his new girlfriend Camilia. He has a son with her and tries to spend time with him and her. Arthur then acts like he's trying to be the best person he can be, but then starts using his drugs again. With Arth... halfway... you work as soon as they reach parole. I believe that if we implement a program like this, it will give probationers a reason to support a clean lifestyle and learn to stay out of crime. Within this article I have discussed what the film is about and how the four boys in the film play an important role in representing the words. I also discussed why the writers might have created this movie and the four key points the writers had in the movie. The main things I have discussed in this article are the two critical points and changes that should be made to parole programs. I also want to point out that I think this film has the potential to spread the word about how difficult it is for criminals to make it in the real world. I hope people realize that this is a problem and that we can make changes to improve our society and be there for these people who are trying to start over.
