Medea's character from the beginning of the play was one of absolute love and loyalty to her husband. When they were exiled to Corinth, she remained by his side with their two children. It was only when her husband decided to abandon her for the king's daughter did she begin to exhibit personality disorders that would ultimately lead to the deaths of Glauce and her two children. Medea's character can be summed up as that of an extremely petty and vengeful wife, possessed by the desire to take revenge on the parties responsible for contributing to the breakdown of her marriage. Perhaps the aspect of witchcraft in his life and repertoire had a lot to do with his ruthless nature. I believe she felt alone as she fled her country, her friends and her family to start over with Jason, and that total lack of love and belonging to her, ultimately changed her personality to one of hate extreme, deception and
