George Bernard Shaw once said, "The first condition of progress is the removal of censorship." Internet censorship is the control or suppression of what can be accessed, published, or viewed on the Internet. In other words, one day you may not be able to Google everything you want to know like you can now. While the Internet can be dangerous without caution, countries do not need to censor the Internet for their own selfish reasons. Internet censorship is a form of dictatorship and can cause riots and take away our first amendment. The Internet as we know it today has been around since around 1990, with the introduction of web pages and email. Censorship in America was simply a grassroots group called the EFF to prevent hackers. Many people have turned to the EFF court due to Internet abuse. In 1994, newsgroups were banned from Carnegie-Mellon University because they were "sexually explicit." In 1995, pornography was introduced to the Internet. The Internet has become a new, unexplored place, and some people have become terrified of it. Today the Internet is even more surveilled and censored....
