When most people think of cheerleading, they think of spirit teams that attempt to pump up local crowds at high school basketball and football games. People are not aware of what these athletes do when they are not in front of this crowd. Those unknown to cheerleading who do not follow this sport in depth do not know the exact involvement of athletes in this sport, at all ages. Cheerleading requires athleticism like all other sports as you have to be fit and at a great level of fitness to be involved in most circumstances. Cheerleaders must always know what they are doing; while knowing what everyone else on the team is doing, which involves a high level of mental preparation. Cheerleading, high school or club teams are now considered one of the most dangerous sports and there is now even regulation for competitive cheerleading. The book contains the same concepts that any other team sport such as football would include. The book contains rules and regulations for jumps, stunts, falls and many other conditions involving the sport; School cheerleaders, on the other hand, have very few rules and very rarely fall or do stunts. Most schools are not allowed to perform stunts as they are termed "ground limited". People who don't know the facts about cheerleading consider cheerleading not a sport, usually call these teams a spiritual club and show disrespect towards these athletes. If people knew all the facts and strengths of cheerleading, they would consider cheerleading a sport just as much as common sports. Just like many other common sports, cheerleading involves grueling practices and intense training that these athletes must be able to endure. .
