My definition of success has changed a lot since I came to USC. In high school, success was defined solely by my academic and extracurricular accomplishments. I measured my success by how many A's I got, how high my SAT scores were, how many clubs I got involved in, and how many leadership roles I took on. Today I measure my success solely by my experiences and learning opportunities. What did I learn from that experience that will help me in the future? In high school, my goal was to get into a great university. Now that I'm here, my perspective has completely changed. I now realize that there is more to being successful than getting good grades and having a good resume. It's not just about being excellent on paper, but about actually learning the material taught in class and taking full advantage of USC's resources and opportunities. It's not about listing as many leadership roles as possible on my resume, but about being able to understand how these leadership roles have influenced me and what I've learned from my experiences as a leader. In college, success is defined by your experiences and opportunities.
