Abortion and America's Moral Decay Abortion is a difficult problem for our country to address. There are, on both sides of the issue, well-intentioned and intelligent people, but also opposing people. Despite the difficulty of this issue, it must be addressed, for it is both rooted in and influential on America's moral foundations and political ideals. As a concerned and open-minded American, I have come to the conclusion that abortion constitutes such a threat to the public and private morals of America that it should be banned in all cases except when the physical health of the mother is seriously threatened. To support this conclusion, I intend to address the pro-choice arguments as represented on Planned Parenthood's Nine Reasons Abortion is Legal site and other pro-choice Internet sites. [Good introduction, although your paragraphs are a bit strange - why all the short paragraphs? The title of the PP site must be enclosed in quotation marks, either as shown here or in the parentheses cited below. In general, it is better not to announce your intentions, but to "just do it." Date of visit: March 7, 1997.[Your in-text citations must match the citations in the list. For example, “Abortion as Birth Control” is listed in parentheses, but is alphabetized as Planned Parenthood. Additionally, web page titles must be enclosed in quotation marks, both in the cited list and in parenthetical citations. There are good rebuttals to many of the points made by Planned Parenthood's "Nine Reasons" site. The problems involve the assumption that the option of abortion is peculiar to our society – and it is not. Even primitive cultures have often identified plants that act as abortifacients. Your rebuttal might have been more effective if you had chosen a single statement to refute instead of nine statements. However you made a great effort.]
