Society expects success from saints, so saints have shown successful behavior to authority. The evidence shown is why the community, school, and police reacted to the Saints as if they were good, but to the Roughnecks as if they were trouble. The police let them go whenever they got into trouble because they were the “good” kids. Their parents might pay to get out of things. Being labeled as good for the kids made the things they did good and they didn't think that any of it was bad, that it was just for fun and a laugh for the kids. The labeling theory that it was for the Roughnecks was that of bad kids who did everything wrong and who did it for fun but in reality they did it to survive. The Company expected mediocre work and it showed, this is what they expected. The evidence that proves this is the Roughnecks as if they were young, tough criminals who were headed for trouble. Through people they saw them as bad and continued to do bad things because this was expected of them. They expected nothing less, although all together they had a C average so they weren't that bad.
