An average of 276,000 young people between the ages of 15 and 25 attempt suicide every year; 5000 succeed. The most common causes? Stress, bullying, failed relationships, abuse and failure in studies. Teenage suicide is wrong, it shows how heartless society is today, and it shows that teenagers sometimes feel like they can't be understood or accepted, that they don't have an adult or a close friend to consult with. Teen suicide is really sad, just to think that someone feels the absolute need to end their life because there seems to be no other answer, when in reality there is. More females than males attempt suicide, and most adolescents attempt or seriously consider suicide in their first two years of high school, approximately between the ages of 14 and 16. That percentage declines once teens reach their senior year. The most common reasons for suicide are bullying and/or cyberbullying. According to Statistic Brains, an average of 157,000 people between the ages of 10 and 24 receive hospital treatment for self-inflicted injuries, the majority caused by suicide attempts. Teenage suicide not only affects the victim, but also has negative effects on the school/university and families. , friends, victim's neighborhood, etc. Families easily sink into depression, friends may have regrets, blaming themselves for not accomplishing something sooner, and peers may feel part of the cause. The school could become more strict to prevent something like this from happening again. Colleges may get bad reviews if the problem becomes repetitive. It has even led to families leaving their homes and moving to different areas due to the feelings caused by suicide, especially for mothers. In 2011, a 14-year-old girl, Sydney Sanders, committed suicide. She had tried to… halfway through the paper… have problems or seem depressed. For all we know, it might just brighten their day. Even though suicide is one of the leading deaths among teenagers, that doesn't mean it can't be prevented. More kindness, less pain. If no one is mean to each other, then there is no reason to end anything, and no one needs to feel hurt, guilty or sad. Works Cited America Now.
