According to the U.S. Department of Education, an early education teacher is defined as “any professional who works in early learning and development programs, including but not limited to providers of child care in centers and families, and young child specialists, early administrators, Head Start teachers, Early Head Start teachers, preschool and other teachers, teacher assistants, family services personnel, and health coordinators Some reasons why people want to become preschool teachers persist in good educational programs, salaries/benefits, and skills needed to do the job Everyone thinks being a teacher is easier, and it could be, but getting a teaching degree can be so much more harder than it seems. Starting in high school, child development, computer applications, keyboarding, teacher assistance, public speaking, and psychology include important lessons to take throughout your high school career. This would advance someone who has taken it over someone who has no idea about the field of education and childhood. Additionally, job shadowing and internship experience will enhance a student's abilities to become an elementary teacher. Once someone gets their high school diploma or GED, they can begin college courses. Wright State Lake Campus University is home to many early childhood education teachers who take health and fitness, art, math, history, field experience, writing and reading courses in their first year. By attending college, someone who is an early education major will gain more experience in the field until, eventually, for a couple of weeks in their senior year, they can teach a course on their own, also known as student teaching.
