Why should one have humility? Humility is a human characteristic, thanks to which one realizes one's own insignificance compared to other people or circumstances. From a spiritual perspective, humility means putting God and others above our own selfish interests. In Chesterton's short story titled "A Defense of Humility," Chesterton states, "Humility is the luxurious art of reducing ourselves to a point, not to a trifle." or great, but a thing without any dimension, so that to him all cosmic things are what they really are of immeasurable stature." Humility is an important characteristic one should have. When one looks at others before oneself, one has humility. By realizing one's insignificance compared to other people, one will be thoughtful or thoughtful, not selfish or proud. Having humility shows the world how humble one's state of mind can be.
