The Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan is a depiction of the lingering tensions and powerful bonds between mother and daughter in a Chinese-American society. The book illustrates the difficulties that the mother and daughters go through to please each other. Furthermore, it shows the problems that daughters face when growing up in two cultures.
